Bio
Ananda Kesler was born in Haifa, Israel. At the age of 12, her family immigrated to the U.S. and settled in the Midwest as part of a unique conscious community based in practices such as meditation, yoga, and sustainable living. In 2002 she received her BA in Fine Art from the University of Iowa. She has continued her art education at Rajamangala College of Art in Thailand, in Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy, and has studied textile design with master artisans in India and Indonesia.
Ananda's unconventional education- rooted in eastern philosophy, spirituality and metaphysics, has led her to search for an intersection, a meeting point of form, beauty, and the mysteries of the esoteric and unknown.
Ananda has exhibited her paintings in galleries and art museums nationally and internationally, including Galerie Metanoia in Paris, France; Borrego Art Institute in California; David Barnett Gallery in Wisconsin; Iowa Contemporary Art Gallery, Oskaloosa Art Center, Burlington Art Center, the FIGGE Art Museum and the Blanden Art Museum in Iowa; the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria, the Zhou B. Art Center and the Freeport Art Museum in Illinois; and the Monmouth Art Museum in New Jersey.
Ananda splits her time between Mexico and Iowa where she lives and paints.
